Castillo de San Marcos in Saint Augustine, Florida

I turned this image into Sepia black and white using Nix Software’s Silver Efex Pro and then merged the image with the original color image.

Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the continental United   States. Located on the shore of Matanzas Bay in the city of St. Augustine, Florida, construction was begun in 1672, 107 years after the cities founding by Spanish Admiral and conquistador Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, when Florida was part of the Spanish Empire.

About europeanimages

Light is both the photographer's palette and brush. Harnessing available light is a skill learned through the study of technical theory and then applying it in the field. My goal as a photographer is to search out the images that interest me artistically, then once I have found the essence of that place I use composition and light to enhance the images.
